Story Telling Fun with the Kids’ People Team
This half term Kids’ People provided a week of fun activities from arts and crafts to storytelling and treasure trails which all received fantastic response from children and parents alike with many people visiting multiple times during the “Teddy Bear Picnic” week. The scene was set for the Teddy Bear Picnic with bright green artificial grass, colourful stripy deck chairs for the adults and child-size picnic tables with red and white gingham table cloths and red parasols for the children. Throughout the week Kids’ People ran multiple storytelling sessions delivered by our enthusiastic and engaging staff which the children loved, listening intently and calling out when invited to. Staff had a great rapport with the children throughout the week and were, at one point, flossing with some children who were so excited with their prizes that they couldn’t stop dancing!
Teaming up for Yummy Arts and Crafts!
Kids’ People also collaborated with the hugely popular Lola’s Cupcakes to provide cupcake decorating. The children enjoyed decorating their own mini cupcakes with colourful icing and sprinkles. They could take home their creations in a little box from Lola’s Cupcakes or eat them up there and then, as many did! Kids’ People also teamed up with Wafflemeister to provide waffle decorating. The children used writing icing and sprinkles to decorate their own waffles and either take them home or devour their yummy masterpieces before they had left the picnic area.
So much fun to have all in one place!
One of our wonderful face painters turned the children into fairies, monsters, butterflies, tigers, superheroes and anything else they could imagine! Parents couldn’t believe that all of the wonderful activities provided were free! Upon arrival any child who had brought along their own teddy bear from home was given a prize of a sticker book, which they were thrilled with. The children could also do colouring in every day and take home their pictures to take pride of place on the fridge. Everyone had a fantastic time and the Kids’ People staff received lots of positive feedback daily from the visiting families. What a wonderful (and very yummy) event!
