Pumpkins and Broomsticks
The days may be getting shorter but Kids’ People had the perfect remedy to lift the spirits of families and shoppers! Following our recent success in the summer holidays, we were delighted to return to the Bentall Centre for our spooktacular Halloween themed event. Our spectral set featured many ghoulish delights. From decorative broomsticks to giant spiders, the scenery guaranteed thrills and chills in equal measure. Rows of real pumpkins lined the performance area to complete the eerie atmosphere.
Ghouls just want to have fun
It was all treat and no trick as our four friendly witches, armed with arts and crafts materials, welcomed visitors to their creative coven. They posed three Halloween themed questions before guiding their ghoulish guests in the ways of their witch craft. Popular with adults and children alike, the hex-cellent hosts were delighted to pose for photographs with families and made sure no one left empty handed.
Smashing pumpkins!
The craft of the day crept well and truly to the theme: create your own Jack-o-lantern. With 250 pumpkins decorating the spooky set, fiendish friends were invited to choose one to decorate with the materials of their choice. With the help of our creative crones, visitors brought their pumpkins to life. Over 300 attendees joined us on the day, many coming especially for the event, creating more footfall for shops in the centre. The day brought fun and theatre to Kingston. Feedback from staff and visitors was unanimous that our Pumpkins and Broomsticks Halloween event was eerie-sistible!
