Welcome to our nature scene
What’s The best way to spend a rainy day? Bring the outside in! A grassy glade, a luscious orchard, juicy apples, tempting tepees, hay bales, picnic blankets, birdsong and a team of bright and bubbly staff dressed in all the colours of the rainbow! The Kids’ People team were absolutely delighted to provide the monthly ‘Little Eco Explorers’ kids’ club and the little eco explorers that visited us were blown away! The kids’ club was designed to educate visitors all about nature and well being and ways we can help ourselves and our planet stay healthy, wholesome and happy.
Our special guests in attendance
Each ‘Little Eco Explorer’ session had a very special guest in attendance ready to greet the children and help them learn all about, health, fitness and our awesome planet! Whether it was ‘Philippa Fit’ the neon wearing bendy fitness fanatic, ‘Eco Eddie’ The super recycler, ‘Disco Dolly’ the fantastic musician, “Chef Eat-your-greens” the nutrition mad chef or ‘Granny Flo’ the story telling enthusiast with a huge heart, each of our characters enthused the visiting children. Each character led a series of workshops throughout the day to engage, educate and above all entertain our visitors, delivered by the hand picked Kids’ People team.
Let’s get crafty!
As well as fun games and activities and educational workshops, there was even more to keep the visiting children happy. Each kids’ club topic had a themed creative craft activity the little eco explorers could complete and take home with them as a reminder of their fantastic day. Set up on Rainbow benches and led by the approachable and artistic staff from Kids’ People, fun was had by all. Adults were bowled over with the level of care each staff member took when interacting with the children whether it was playing a game, creating a craft or helping them explore and expand their knowledge of all things eco! There were so many appreciative comments from visitors that the shopping centre had provided these wonderful events for the children which certainly resulted in repeat visitors who made the trip to the shopping centre to join us every month.
