Each and every Cath Kidston store countrywide gives their customers the wonderful feeling of stepping into a beautiful country garden, leaving the hustle and bustle of the city streets behind them and entering a realm of pastel shades and gorgeous designs. So, imagine the recent shoppers’ delight when they entered to find that there was also a charming story corner set up to entertain their children whilst they browsed the new stock! Indeed, parents who visited Cath Kidston stores with their little ones throughout August were greeted by a friendly, energetic and welcoming presence in the shape of Kids’ People storytellers! Kids’ People supplied its finest actors and performers to nationwide Cath Kidston stores armed with an array of storybooks for children of all ages (and parents alike) to enjoy.
Julia Donaldson, Quinten Blake and Classic Fairy Tales
From Julia Donaldson’s charming tales, Quinten Blake’s magical journeys to classics like Rapunzel with a modern twist. The storytellers took up their position in the cosy reading corner looking right at home in a brightly coloured Cath Kidston apron. Once everyone was comfortably seated on their bean bag, the storyteller immersed the audience of tiny faces in a story of the children’s choice.
Loved by the staff, customers and most importantly the children in the Cath Kidston stores!
As the children sat transfixed by the various characters being brought to life through the beautiful book illustrations and the storyteller’s weird and wonderful voices, parents had time to get their fix of floral prints and polka dot accessories and a take a very welcome pause from the hectic nature of the summer holidays. The Cath Kidston staff were enjoying themselves as much as the children and were reluctant to get on with their days work! Overall this event left huge smiles on the faces of all involved, from the children, to the parents, to the storyteller themselves, and many children left the store requesting a trip to the book shop next door to relive at home the journeys they had been taken on that day. What fantastic events of magical story telling for the Kids’ People Team to be a part of!
